We have been chosen by dtp entertainment AG and French developer Wizarbox for creating in-game 3D characters for their game project "Gray Matter" from the legendary game designer Jane Jensen (best known for her work on the "Gabriel Knight" series). The ambitious adventure game was released for PC and XBOX 360 in November 2010.

As the character work was progressing well, our client also entrusted us with creating motion capture animations for the game. We recorded the moves with our Xsens MVN Motion Capture System in our studio in Hanover and edited the data to fit seamlessly into the animation system of Gray Matter. Additionally we created facial animation rigs for all characters and set up the necessary expressions and phonemes which were used in the game engine's automated facial animation system.

Many characters and animations already existed when we were assigned with the job, therefore not all of the characters / animations that can be seen in the game are done by us. But of course the ones that you can see on this page are.

"This is a gorgeous game and certainly among the best looking in the genre. Lots of beautiful locations and well-designed characters." ... "Sam and Dr. Styles are particularly well developed, and similar attention was given to making the rest of the rotating cast look distinct." ... IGN (Graphics Rating 8.5 out of 10)

"The historic Oxford colleges and stately Dread Hill House make for handsome pseudo-3D backdrops for the 3D character models. The character designs are similarly crisp and detailed, with Sam being the particular standout."... "Though the puzzles could stand some more flair and imagination, the story and visuals have quality enough to carry the day." GAMESPOT
